Intelligence is convinced that enemy will not be able to copy Ukrainian naval drones

Yevhen Yerin, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, said this on the air of the United News telethon, Ukrinform reports.

"As for the wreckage or other parts of these drones, which the enemy is trying to use to create their own drones, they are unlikely to succeed. Because the engineers who create these drones must be the best and most advanced in this area. We have been working in this area for several years. Our developments are proving to be effective, and we are among the best in this regard. So it is unlikely that the enemy will be able to repeat something like this, but they will try," said Yerin.

He also believes that even if the Russians create their own maritime drone, it will be "something that Ukrainian specialists did the day before yesterday".

"Because we are moving forward, developing and improving our weapons," Yerin said, adding that the enemy should not be underestimated.

"The topic of drones, including maritime ones, is not new, but this ongoing war has shown their decisive importance in combat operations and achieving some success. Today, it is our drones that have shown themselves to be the best," the DIU representative said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ukrainian Magura V5 maritime strike drone was recognised as the most effective during Russia's full-scale invasion, according to a study published in the Polish edition of the Political Science and Security Studies Journal.

Thanks to Magura V5 drones, 14 Russian ships were hit, eight of which were completely destroyed.

According to the DIU, these are the Russian reconnaissance ship Ivan Khurs, patrol ship Sergei Kotov, landing craft Akula and Serna, missile ship Ivanovets, large landing ship Caesar Kunikov, as well as Russian high-speed patrol and landing boats of various types.

The damage caused to Russia by the DIU operators using Magura V5 drones is estimated at more than USD 500 million.
