Memorial to Azov fighters installed in Prykarpattia area

In the village of Verkhovyna, Ivano-Frankivsk region, a memorial sign was installed to Azov fighters who died last year in the Lyman direction.

The Verkhovyna District Council reported this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

“In the village of Verkhovyna, on Franko Street, a memorial sign to the fallen defenders of Ukraine - Mykola Semchuk, a resident of the village, and Nikita from Kharkiv - was opened and consecrated. Both men went to defend the state against the occupier from the first days of the war, served in the Azov Division, and died together in the Lyman direction last December,” the statement reads.

It is noted that the boys were 18 and 19 years old.

The village also hosted a motorcycle rally in memory of the fallen Azov soldiers.

The district council added that a part of Ukrainian Victory Street in Verkhovyna, where Mykola Semchuk's family lives, was renamed after the hero.

As Ukrinform previously reported, a stele in memory of the fallen soldiers of the 50th National Guard Regiment was unveiled in Ivano-Frankivsk.
