Strikes behind frontlines, missile independence: Zelensky holds Supreme CinC Staff meeting
The head of the Ukrainian state reported this via Telegram, Ukrinform saw.
"The Staff. Reports from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi and Chief of the General Staff Anatoliy Barhylevych. Battlefield developments, outlooks, follow-up action, staffing of units for timely rotation. Much attention was paid to our ability to strike deep behind the front line. We analyzed the effectiveness of our drones of various types, as well as the tactics that the Russian army applies regarding drones. The effectiveness of e-warfare and other tools for combating UAVs was assessed," Zelensky wrote.
He noted that the meeting also discussed the nation’s own missile program.
"We are actively working to reduce dependence on the supply of missiles from partners, including for air defense. Reports from Minister (for strategic industries – ed.) Oleksandr Kamyshyn, First Deputy Minister of Defense Ivan Havryliuk, Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov," the president noted.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ukrainian government has already purchased 20,000 drones for the army via the Prozorro Market e-catalog. These are UAVs such as DJI Mavic, DJI Matrice, DJI Phantom, AUTEL EVO II, FPV, etc. Their total value exceeds UAH 1.7 billion.
