Russia reconvenes UN Security Council to 'condemn' Ukraine, with pro-Russian ex-minister to speak
This was reported by an Ukrinform correspondent in New York. The Russian delegation periodically raises this topic in the Security Council, but each time representatives of the UN Secretariat and members of the Security Council remind it that Russia itself receives foreign military assistance from Iran and North Korea.
As reported, in August 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the wedding of the then Austrian Foreign Minister Kneissl.
After she resigned as minister, she was harshly criticised for her ties to the Kremlin. She eventually moved to Russia.
Commenting on the expected virtual participation of a pro-Russian politician in the Security Council meeting, Ukraine's Permanent Representative to the UN, Sergiy Kyslytsya, wrote on social media site X: "On 25 July, the UN Security Council website will broadcast a remake of the famous 1964 Soviet cartoon based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale ('Thumbelina' - ed.). The special guest speaker is Dr Karin Kneissl."
In particular, Kyslytsia quotes the frogs' words about Thumbelina from the cartoon: "Well, what do you think, beautiful bride?" - "She is beautiful! It's a pity she's not green." - "It's okay, she'll turn green when she lives with us."
As Ukrinform previously reported, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov did not coordinate propaganda narratives about the shelling of the Okhmatdyt children's hospital on 8 July with Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzei, so they issued different versions that contradicted each other.
