Car bomb mauls Russian Army’s SatCom HQ deputy chief in Moscow

Deputy head of the satellite communication center of the Russian Armed Forces, Andrei Torgashov, reportedly suffered traumatic amputation of both feet after a bomb went off in his car in Moscow.

That’s according to the ASTRA Telegram channel, Ukrinform saw.

Eyewitnesses report that sappers are currently working at the site of the blast.

As ASTRA learned, the explosion occurred in the morning of July 24 in the parking lot outside the serviceman’s home as he was getting into a car. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that an explosive device had been planted into the car in advance.

A woman, who is believed to be Torgashov’s wife, was also injured in the explosion.

According to Mash Telegram channel, the victim and his wife are both in intensive care in grave condition. The publication also posted the video showing the moment when the bomb was being planted.

According to the Telegram channel Baza, the victim is an officer with the GRU defense intelligence.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, in February, the commander of the Tu-95 strategic bomber crew, Major Oleg Stegachyov, was shot dead in the city of Engels, home to a military airbase.
