War update: 147 combat clashes on front lines, fighting heaviest on Pokrovsk axis

As many as 147 combat engagements with Russian invaders were recorded on the front lines in the past 24 hours, with the fighting being the heaviest in the Pokrovsk sector.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a situation update as of 08:00 on Friday, July 26, Ukrinform reports.

On July 25, Russian forces launched one missile strike against Ukrainian positions and populated areas using one missile and 90 airstrikes using 151 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy launched more than 4,900 shelling attacks, including 104 using multiple rocket launchers.

The Russian army carried out airstrikes outside the settlements of Dronivka, Yampil, Siversk, Toretsk, Kostiantynivka, Kurdiumivka, Berestok, Skuchne, Novoselivka Persha, Mezhove, Oleksandropil, Hrodivka, Ivanivka, Zhelanne, Illinka, Mykhailivka, Katerynivka, Vodiane, Velyka Novosilka, Rivnopil and Blahodatne in the Donetsk region, as well as Mala Tokmachka, Kamianske and Lobkove in the Zaporizhzhia region.

On July 25, Ukrainian combat aircraft and missile and artillery forces launched 17 strikes on Russian troop concentration areas, hitting three air defense systems, an artillery piece and a cannon.

In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces launched nine attacks. Ukrainian forces repelled the enemy assaults near Hlyboke, Vovchansk and Tykhe.

In the Kupiansk sector, ten combat engagements occurred near Stelmakhivka, Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Synkivka.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy launched 13 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Makiivka, Nevske, and in the Serebriansky forest.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled six Russian assaults near Spirne, Verkhniokamianske, Mykolaivka, and Ivano-Darivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the Russians launched 11 attacks near Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Kalynivka, Hryhorivka, and Maiske.

In the Toretsk sector, the enemy launched 11 attacks near Pivnichne, Niu-York and Zalizne.

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 43 enemy assaults outside Vozdvyzhenka, Ivanivka, Tymofiivka, Vesele, Novoselivka Persha, Novooleksandrivka, Novozhelanne, Yasnobrodivka, Prohres and Kalynivka. With the support of aircraft, the Russians tried to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions. The greatest concentration of enemy attacks was recorded near Novoselivka Persha and Vozdvyzhenka.

In the Kurakhove sector, Ukrainian forces repelled 19 attacks near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka, and Paraskoviivka, where Russian troops tried to break through Ukrainian defenses.

In the Vremivka sector, Russian forces carried out 14 assaults near Velyka Novosilka, Vodiane, Kostiantynivka, and Rozdolne.

In the Orikhiv sector, the invaders continued to try to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. Four combat clashes were recorded near Mala Tokmachka, Yurkivka, Shcherbaky and Novoandriivka.

In the Dnipro River sector, all Russian attacks were also unsuccessful during the assault on Ukraine's defensive lines on the east bank of the Dnipro.

There were no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.

On the border with the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the Russians maintain a military presence, shelling populated areas from their territory and increasing the density of minefields along Ukraine's state border.
