"Last night, units of the missile forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other elements of the Defense Forces, as part of a joint plan, struck the Saky air base in temporarily occupied Crimea. Reports of the consequences of the attack are being clarified.

"It is important to note that the air base was protected by 'modern' Russian air defense systems that once again failed to protect an important Russian military facility," the General Staff said.

Explosions rang out last night in Simferopol, Yevpatoria, and Novofedorivka, where a Russian air base is located.
