According to UK intelligence analysts, Russian troops will continue their tactical advance on the eastern front in the coming weeks.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the UK Ministry of Defence on social media platform X.

As noted in the report, in July 2024, Russian Ground Forces (RGF) maintained continuous attacks in central Donetsk Oblast. The RGF made steady advances westwards, taking control of several villages and moving closer to the logistics hub of Pokrovsk.

Russian ground troops also advanced north towards the town of New York, which has been on the frontline since 2014.

It is likely that Russian troops will continue their tactical advance in the coming weeks, according to British intelligence.

"However, the overall operational capability of Russian forces remains limited due to a number of factors, including high levels of casualties, limited training and a lack of officers," the report said.
