Zelensky came to Volyn to check fortifications on border and hold meeting

As noted, the meeting was attended by representatives of the military leadership, the State Border Guard Service, heads of Volyn, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Kyiv and Chernihiv regional military administrations.
The head of the SBGS, Serhiy Deineko, reported on border protection, including the number of soldiers involved, their capabilities and weapons.
Heads of the Chernihiv Regional Military District Vyacheslav Chaus, Kyiv Regional Military District Ruslan Kravchenko, Zhytomyr Regional Military District Vitaliy Bunechko, Rivne Regional Military District Oleksandr Koval, Volyn Regional Military District Yuriy Pohulyayko and Head of the Administration of the State Special Transport Service Oleksandr Yakovets reported on the progress of the construction of fortifications along the border with Belarus.
The President got acquainted with the works at one of the strongholds in Volyn region, where he inspected the arrangement of trenches, fireworks and positions, dugouts.

Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, anti-tank ditches, barrier fences and platoon strongholds with firing positions have been built here. Reinforced concrete structures and protective structures for sheltering personnel have been installed in the areas of possible movement of the occupiers' armoured vehicles.
"We have strong defences on our side, both in terms of personnel and defence lines. We have also increased the number of border guards in all regions that border Russia and Belarus. And we continue to strengthen it," Zelensky stressed.
As Ukrinform previously reported, on 29 July, Zelensky visited the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkiv sector, congratulated them on their professional holiday and presented them with state awards.
