Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba discussed the inadmissibility of military support for Russia and strengthening Russia's cooperation with the DPRK during talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

This was announced at a briefing by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Heorhii Tykhyi, a Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Minister Kuleba recalled Ukraine's position that no military support for the aggressor state, the provision of weapons is unacceptable, to which we received the answer that China had voiced earlier that China has not provided and will not provide weapons to Russia and, in addition, is tightening export controls, in particular on civilian drones,” he said.

Tykhyi added that they also discussed the strengthening of Russia's cooperation with North Korea, which is increasing in violation of UN Security Council sanctions. This issue cannot but concern Asian countries and China as the most powerful player in the region, the Foreign Ministry spokesman said.

The spokesperson emphasized that Kyiv considers this a serious factor of concern that should be taken into account, as cooperation between Russia and North Korea does not bring security to Asia, but rather destabilizes the situation.

Last week, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba paid a three-day working visit to Beijing at the invitation of the Chinese side to discuss bilateral relations between Ukraine and China, as well as international efforts to stop Russian aggression against Ukraine.

According to Kuleba, his Chinese counterpart agreed that we need a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine, not an illusion of it.
