Over the past few days, the number of assaults in the Kharkiv sector has decreased, but the number of Russian attacks on Ukrainian positions has increased.

This was reported by Vitaliy Sarantsev, spokesman for the Kharkiv Operational and Tactical Group of Troops, on the air of the United News telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to him, the operational situation in the Kharkiv sector has not changed significantly over the last day - the Defence Forces are striking at the enemy, who is trying to hold the previously captured lines or improve their tactical position.

"It should be noted here that over the past few days the enemy has reduced the number of assault offensives, but increased the number of attacks on our positions. For example, we recorded 300-400 attacks recently, but the number of attacks on Sunday was absolutely record-breaking, with 513 attacks," Sarantsev said.

The spokesperson for the Kharkiv military training facility expressed the opinion that this suggests that the enemy has exhausted its offensive potential to some extent and is trying to inflict damage to the Ukrainian military with the help of firepower.

He also noted that the Russians carry out internal rotations of their military and replenish troops from the reserve, transferring units from other areas to the Kharkiv region.

As reported by Ukrinform, Sarantsev said that Russian troops have concentrated their greatest efforts in Kharkiv region in the vicinity of 5 settlements - Lyptsi, Hlyboke, Morokhovets, Krasne and Vovchansk.
