General Staff: 156 combat clashes recorded in past day, one third of them in Pokrovsk sector
This is said in a situation update by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
"According to the updated information, yesterday the enemy launched two missile strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements using five missiles, as well as 77 air strikes, dropping 103 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the enemy carried out more than 4,600 attacks, including 104 MLRS attacks," the statement said.
The aggressor carried out air strikes in the vicinity of populated areas, particularly, Popivka in the Sumy region; Slobozhanske, Lyptsi, Vilcha, Horiane, Velykyi Burluk, Vovchansk, Pidseredne in the Kharkiv region; Lyman, Yampil, Makiivka, Chasiv Yar, Shcherbynivka, Druzhba, Toretsk, Kurdiumivka, New York, Mykolaivka, Novohrodivka, Zhelanne, Ivanivka, Panteleimonivka, Hrodivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Novozhelanne, Memryk, Oleksandropil, Hannivka, Trudove, Vodiane, Veselyi Hai, Yelyzavetivka, Storozhove, Blahodatne, Novodonetske, Staromayorske, Urozhaine in the Donetsk region; Lobkove in the Zaporizhzhia region; Novokamianske, Stepove, Chervonyi Yar in the Kherson region.
Yesterday, the aircraft, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces conducted 18 strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel and weapons, hitting five command posts, two air defense systems, one communication center, three ammunition depots, as well as another important object of the invaders.
In the Kharkiv sector, eight attacks were recorded over the day. The defense forces repelled enemy assaults in the vicinity of Tykhe and Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, eight combat engagements took place in the vicinity of Stepova Novoselivka, Kolisnykivka, Berestove, Stelmakhivka and Andriivka.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked 14 times near Makiivka, Nevske and Novoserhiivka.
In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled four assault attacks by Russian invaders in the area of Verkhniokamianske, Ivan-Daryivka and Vyimka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, 10 engagements took place in the areas of Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Bohdanivka and Andriivka.
In the Toretsk sector, 26 combat clashes took place near Pivnichne, New York, Toretsk and Zalizne.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled 55 attacks in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Zhelanne, Serhiivka, Panteleimonivka, Novooleksandrivka, Ivanivka, Lysychne, Tymofiivka, Karlivka, Kalynove and Hrodivka.
In the Kurakhove sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces thwarted 13 attacks on Krasnohorivka, Zhelanne, Karlivka, Heorhiivka and Paraskoviivka, where the enemy attempted to break through the Ukrainian defensive lines.
In the Vremivka sector, Russian troops conducted 12 assaults near Velyka Novosilka and Vodiane.
In the Dnipro River sector, six enemy assaults on the left bank of the Dnipro had no success.
The situation in the Huliaipole and Orikhiv sectors remained unchanged. In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.
