Russian army loses 1,140 soldiers in Ukraine in past 24 hours

Russia lost about 587,510 troops in Ukraine between February 24, 2022 and August 8, 2024, including 1,140 soldiers killed or wounded in action in the past 24 hours.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
In addition, Ukraine's defense forces destroyed 8,431 (+2) Russian tanks, 16,332 (+9) armored fighting vehicles, 16,487 (+36) artillery systems, 1,142 (+4) multiple rocket launchers, 914 (+4) anti-aircraft warfare systems, and 2,424 (+3) cruise missiles. The Russian army also lost 366 (+1) warplanes, 327 (+1) helicopters, 13,293 (+81) tactical unmanned aerial systems, 28 warships/cutters, 1 submarine, 22,285 (+59) vehicles and fuel tankers, and 2,767 (+8) pieces of special equipment.
