Defence forces destroy five Russian drones overnight

Last night, the Ukrainian Defence Forces shot down five Russian drones.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykola Oleshchuk in a message on Telegram.

According to him, on the night of 16 August, the Russian invaders struck Ukraine with three Iskander-M ballistic missiles, three Shahed attack UAVs and two unidentified drones from the Kursk region.

As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, mobile firing groups of the Defence Forces and electronic warfare systems of the Air Force shot down all enemy drones in Poltava, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, according to the Kyiv City Military Administration, on the night of 16 August, Russians attacked the capital with attack drones, and air defence systems were operating. There were no casualties or damage.
