Ukrainian scouts damaged 18 Russian vessels in 18 months thanks to Ukrainian-made MAGURA V5 unmanned maritime drones.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), according to Ukrinform.

In an interview with Deutsche Welle, the commander of the Group 13 special intelligence unit with the call sign “Thirteenth” noted that Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in Crimea had actually surrendered.

“Russia has already withdrawn all the most modern and necessary equipment from Sevastopol. The fleet is paralyzed. Now it eats money from the Russian budget, although it cannot perform its functions,” he said.

According to GUR, the Ukrainian-made MAGURA V5 maritime attack drone is capable of covering a distance of over 800 kilometers. Its speed is 80 km/h and the warhead weighs 250 kg.

“We didn't chase an enlargement of the combat unit to destroy the ship with a single hit. We chose a different path: we attacked in a pack, inflicting five or more hits on large ships, which caused critical damage,” the intelligence officer explained.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Ukrainians raised another UAH 10 million for the HUR to purchase a Magura V5 multi-functional unmanned surface vessel.
