Ukrainian forces shoot down 51 enemy Shahed UAVs overnight

Ukrainian defense forces shot down 51 Russian attack UAVs overnight, while 60 drones disappeared from radars.

The Ukrainian Air Force wrote this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

From 19:00 on October 15 to 07:00 on October 16, Russian troops struck the Donetsk region with an S-300/400 anti-aircraft guided missile launched from the temporarily occupied part of the Donetsk region. One Kh -59 guided missile was launched on the Chernihiv region from the airspace of the Kursk region, and 136 attack UAVs from Russia’s Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

The aircraft, anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire groups and units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the attack.

As of 07:00, 51 enemy UAVs were shot down in the Sumy, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Ternopil, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Poltava, Chernihiv, and Chernivtsi regions.

It is noted that 60 Russian drones have disappeared from radars in various regions of Ukraine due to the work of Ukrainian EW systems.

As Ukrinform reported, the enemy launched several groups of Shahed-type kamikaze drones from the northern and southern directions.
