In the area of the Antonivskyi Bridge (connecting Kherson with the Dnipro river left bank), Russian occupying forces are practicing crossing maneuvers with small infantry groups. However, there is currently no indication of a large-scale river crossing by the enemy.

This was stated by Vladyslav Voloshyn, Spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, during a television broadcast, as reported by Ukrinform.

"They are training... but these are small-unit crossing maneuvers with infantry groups no larger than a squad. They are also involving riverboats from their Dnipro flotilla in these drills. Essentially, what they are doing on land with small infantry assault groups, they are trying to replicate in the river and island zones of the Dnipro," Voloshyn explained.

According to him, fierce battles are ongoing for Kruhlyk Island and near the Antonivskyi Bridge, where the enemy is probing the Ukrainian forces' defenses.

"Over the last two to three weeks, the situation in this area has escalated, with multiple clashes recorded daily. However, the prospect of a large-scale river crossing by the enemy seems unlikely. A river-crossing operation of that scale is highly complex, requiring significant forces and resources, which our intelligence would detect. I want to reassure everyone that no such large-scale crossing is currently planned," Voloshyn said.

As reported earlier, in Kherson, a woman escaped occupation on foot by reaching the remaining intact section of the Antonivskyi Bridge, where Ukrainian soldiers rescued her. Authorities urge people not to take such risks.
