Russia’s attempts to level the front line in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions result in their massive casualties and equipment loss.

This was stated on national television by the spokesman for the Khortytsia Grouping of Troops, Nazar Voloshyn, Ukrinform reports.

“In our operational zone, we had 144 clashes with the enemy throughout the night and this morning. The enemy executed most assaults in the past day in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove and Vremivka directions. In particular, in the Kurakhove axis, the invaders tried to break through Ukrainian defense lines 44 times in the past day. Our defense forces continue to hold the enemy back. It is important for the enemy in this area to level the front line, because this woyld allow them to regroup and withdraw some of their units for recovery, so that, having accumulated resources, they could restart the offensive. The enemy has amassed manpower and equipment reserves in the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Vremivka directions,” Voloshyn said.

According to the press officer, the enemy is literally grinding down its assault units, which forces them to attract strategic reserves they have been accumulating over the year.

“In the Kurakhove direction, the enemy continues to actively employ artillery, resorting to mass assaults, which allows them to advance. However, our Defense Forces are in active defense, trying to restore positions along the line of contact, defending against an massively overwhelming manpower and armored force. But the enemy is paying for all this with heavy casualties and equipment loss. In the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk directions, the enemy is exhausting their offensive assault reserves. This forces them to attract additional strategic reserves they have been accumulating for a year,” Voloshyn noted.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Khortytsia Grouping said the enemy was attracting female ex-convicts to assault missions.
