Ukraine's PM: Over 300 sappers clearing mines in Kharkiv region
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this during a government meeting on December 5, Ukrinform reports, referring to a video posted on the prime minister's Telegram channel.
"One program that requires additional attention is demining. The Kharkiv region is one of the regions most contaminated with mines. Currently, about 320 sappers from various government organizations are working on mine clearance here, using 24 mechanical demining machines," Shmyhal said.
In addition to government teams, approximately 400 sappers from non-governmental and international organizations are also contributing to the demining efforts in the region.
"We also call on farmers in the Kharkiv region to take advantage of the humanitarian demining market, thanks to which they can receive 100% compensation for the demining of their land plots," Shmyhal said.
