Casualties from Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia rise to 22, six confirmed dead
That is according to a Telegram report by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), as cited by Ukrinform.
"Currently, six civilians are confirmed dead, and 22 others have been injured in the Zaporizhzhia strike. Emergency rescue operations are ongoing," the SES stated.
All city emergency services are actively working at the scene, with SES psychologists providing assistance to affected residents.
Chief of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported that SES rescuers pulled two women from the rubble during the night. Both women are now in the hospital.
Fedorov added that four people remain trapped under the debris of the building destroyed by the Russian missile.
The missile strike occurred on Tuesday at around 15:00, targeting the city center. Initial reports indicated three fatalities and 16 injuries.
