War update: over 140 clashes on frontlines since day-start, situation critical in three sectors

Since the beginning of the day, the Ukrainian forces have faced 140 clashes on the frontlines, with significant enemy activity recorded in the Pokrovsk and Vremivka sectors and a challenging situation persisting in the Kurakhove sector.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Since the start of the day, there have been 140 combat engagements on the frontlines. Our defenders are halting the enemy, holding the lines, and disrupting Russian plans. Throughout the day, the enemy forces have carried out artillery shelling on the settlements of Vysoke and Porozok in Sumy region, as well as Tymonovychi in Chernihiv region," the statement reads.

In the Kharkiv sector, the Ukrainian forces repelled four attempts by Russian troops to advance near Hlyboke, Lyptsi, and Starytsia. One clash continues near Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched 11 attacks attempting to advance in the areas such as Zapadne, Pishchane, Lozova, and Zahryzove. Seven clashes are ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, a total of 21 clashes occurred near Tverdokhlibove, Druzheliubivka, Novoiehorivka, Hrekivka, Makiivka, Terny, Torsk and in the Serebrianskyi Forest. Currently, five combat engagements are still ongoing in this area.

In the Siversk sector, the Russian forces launched one assault near Verkhniokamianske but were repelled.

In the Kramatorsk sector, two clashes near Chasiv Yar and Stupochky were successfully fended off by the Ukrainian defenders.

In the Toretsk sector, three enemy assaults were repelled, while one battle continues. Additionally; the enemy dropped three guided aerial bombs on Krymske and Petrivka.

According to the General Staff, the enemy's activity is highly intense in the Pokrovsk sector where 28 clashes were reported today. Currently, fighting continues in the areas of Shevchenkove, Pishchane, Novotroitske, Novooleksiivka, Novyi Trud, Dachenske, and Lysivka. Near Myroliubivka, Promin, and Pokrovske, 12 enemy attacks were repelled.

In the Kurakhove sector, fierce fighting continues. Near Sontsivka, Staryi Terniv, Dachenske, Zoria, Kurakhove, Dachne, Katerynivka, Yelyzavetivka, Hanivka, Antonivka, and Uspenivka, 19 enemy assaults were repelled. The Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly fighting off nine more clashes that are still ongoing.

In the Vremivka sector, the Russian forces launched 26 attacks near Trudove, Kostiantynopil, Sukhi Yaly, Blahodatne, and Novodarivka, with two clashes still ongoing. Additionally, the enemy conducted airstrikes with ten guided bombs on the settlements of Komar and Rozliv.

In the Orikhiv sector, one enemy attack was repelled near Novodanylivka. The Ukrainian forces also intercepted a guided missile near Svitlohirske.

In the Prydniprovske sector, the Ukrainian troops repelled one attack near Kozatsky Island.

In the Kursk sector, the Ukrainian forces repelled 15 enemy assaults, with six still underway. The enemy also conducted 182 artillery strikes in the region.

The General Staff noted that the Ukrainian forces are effectively exhausting the enemy across the entire frontline and behind enemy lines.

As reported, on December 11, 2024, Russian combat losses in Ukraine have reached approximately 757,340 personnel, with 1,400 casualties reported in the past day.
