Russia’s air strike on Kupiansk: Bodies of two women recovered from rubble

The bodies of two women who died as a result of a Russian air strike on a residential building in Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, on January 26 were recovered from under the rubble.

Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

“The bodies of two women were recovered from the rubble of a house in Kupiansk. The 95-year-old and 72-year-old women died as a result of enemy shelling,” he wrote.

They were killed as a result of a Russian FAB-500 air strike on January 26 at 14:18, Syniehubov wrote.

As reported, on the afternoon of January 26, Russian troops struck Kupiansk with guided aerial bombs, damaging private houses and power grids. After extinguishing the fire, rescuers found an injured 86-year-old woman and hospitalized her. Due to the constant shelling, rescuers were forced to suspend firefighting and rubble removal operations.
