On the night of Wednesday, January 29, Kyiv was attacked by drones filled with shrapnel (small fragments).

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Ruslan Kandybor, Director of the Department of Transport Infrastructure of the Kyiv City State Administration, in a commentary to Kyiv 24 TV channel.

“The fragments of the drone fell on the tracks, and the security and safety premises were damaged,” Kandybor said.

During the alarm, all people were in safe places, he emphasized. Currently, the subway line has been restored.

Investigators continue to work on the ground, Kandybor added.

“The enemy is conducting insidious attacks, charging Shakhtyn with shrapnel - small fragments. We can see this from the scene, where everything is riddled with small metal fragments. If there had been rolling stock on the tracks at that moment, there would have been movement of cars, there could have been some casualties or injuries among people,” he said.

Kandybor noted that subway employees, together with the State Emergency Service, quickly collected sharp fragments.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, a fire was localized in the Desnianskyi district of the capital, which arose as a result of the fall of the UAV debris.
