Russian forces fire 12,000 shells at Kherson region in January killing 29 people

In the first month of this year, Russian forces fired over 12,000 shells at residents of Kherson region. These attacks claimed the lives of 29 people while 237 others were injured.

This was reported on Facebook by Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin, as cited by Ukrinform.

"During the first month of this year, more than 12,000 enemy shells hit Kherson region. These attacks took the lives of 29 residents, while 237 people sustained injuries of varying severity," Prokudin wrote.

He emphasized that the victims were not on the battlefield, some were simply going to buy bread, returning from work, or doing something in their yards.

"But the Russians attacked them, cynically and mercilessly. More than half of the casualties resulted from Russia’s drone 'safari.' The enemy deliberately killed 17 people and injured 142 residents of the region using drones," Prokudin noted.

He expressed condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those wounded in the Russian attacks on Kherson region.

Previously, Ukrinform reported that a man was killed in Antonivka, Kherson region, following a drone attack.
