Zelensky: More than 100,000 residents of Mykolaiv were left without heating due to Russian attack
According to Ukrinform, the head of state announced this in his Telegram.
“Today, more than a hundred thousand people in Mykolaiv were left without heating as a result of a Russian Shahed strike on the city's critical infrastructure. It is an ordinary Ukrainian city, ordinary civilian infrastructure. This has nothing to do with the fighting and the situation at the frontline, it proves once again that the Russians are fighting against our people, against life in Ukraine. And they are fighting viciously, without relenting. Those who really want to restore peace and prepare for negotiations do not do this,” Zelensky said.
According to him, repair crews are actively working in the city to restore heating to Mykolaiv.
“We will continue to work together with our partners to strengthen our defense against such attacks. And all partners need to work equally actively at all levels to prevent Russia from prolonging this war or making the threat to life permanent. We must push Russia to peace,” the President emphasized.
He also reminded that the recent strike of the Shahed UAV on the shelter at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, this strike on Mykolaiv, and all other similar Russian strikes should lead to a strong reaction, to strong interaction of all our partners and to work together to force Russia to peace.
As Ukrinform reported, on the night of February 16, the Russian army carried out a massive shelling of Mykolaiv, damaging a critical infrastructure facility, five apartment buildings, shops, a catering facility, and injuring a man.
