Ukrainian SOF confirm strike on Ilsky oil refinery, Kropotkinskaya oil station in Russia
As reported by Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces Command shared this information on Facebook.
Approximately 20 explosions were heard at the Ilsky oil refinery, located about 400 kilometers from the territory controlled by the Ukrainian forces. A fire is still raging at the site.
"The refinery has six technological units for oil refining with a capacity of 6.6 million tons per year. This month, Ukrainian drones have already targeted this refinery, which supplies fuel to the Russian forces for conducting war against Ukraine," the SOF noted.
Another targeted facility, one of the largest energy facilities in Russia, completely stopped its operations after the Ukrainian drone strike. The enemy is now pumping oil around the Kropotkinskaya station at minimal capacity.
"In addition to supplying fuel to the Russian forces, such facilities also directly finance the war against Ukraine with oil revenues. This is precision that changes the course of the war. We continue working," the SOF emphasized.
As Ukrinform previously reported, at night on February 17, Ukrainian drones struck the Ilsky oil refinery and the Kropotkinskaya oil pumping station.
