Ukrainian forces shoot down 106 Russian drones, 56 more disappear from radar

The Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 106 drones used by the Russian army to attack Ukraine.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

Starting at 20:00 on February 18, the Russian forces attacked Ukraine with 167 Shahed-type attack UAVs and various types of decoy drones launched from the directions of Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, Millerovo, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk. In addition, two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles were launched at the Sumy region from the Voronezh region.

Ukraine’s anti-aircraft missile troops, EW units, and mobile fire groups repelled the enemy air attack.

As of 09:00 on February 19, 106 Shahed attack UAVs and other types of drones were confirmed downed in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Khmelnytskyi, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Odesa, and Mykolaiv regions.

As many as 56 enemy decoy drones were lost from tracking (without negative consequences).

The enemy attack affected the Odesa, Kyiv, Sumy, Cherkasy and Zaporizhzhia regions.

As reported by Ukrinform, four people were injured in Odesa as a result of Russia’s drone attack.
