Russia launches nearly 50 attacks on DniproHES since start of full-scale war
Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, said this during a live broadcast with local residents, Ukrinform reports.
"In terms of energy generation, restoration has not been possible because the enemy has carried out 46 strikes on the turbine rooms of the DniproHES. The energy component is non-functional and cannot be restored," Fedorov stated.
Despite this, the road across the dam, which was damaged by Russian attacks, has been repaired. According to Fedorov, restoring this logistical route was a top priority.
According to Ukrhydroenergo, the restoration of the DniproHES will take at least three years.
Fedorov hosted a Q&A session on social media, explaining that public meetings are currently impossible due to security concerns, prompting a return to online engagement with residents.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, during his visit to Vienna for an IAEA Board of Governors meeting, discussed critical nuclear security issues with G7 ambassadors amid ongoing Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
