Ukrainian forces repel massive Russian assault on Chasiv Yar
According to Ukrinform, the 24th OMBr shared footage of the failed Russian attack on Telegram.
"In the morning of March 6, the Russians attempted to break through with a column of armored vehicles. More than two dozen pieces of equipment, including airborne combat vehicles, advanced one after another toward the positions of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade. They were met by infantry, artillery, and drone crews," the report states.
According to the military, "in the end, the Russian column got stuck in a 'traffic jam' – a cluster of destroyed vehicles blocked the crossing over the Canal. Those who survived tried to retreat, but not all managed to escape."
As a result, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 11 Russian vehicles, while five others were damaged. In total, the Russian forces used about 25 vehicles in the assault, including engineering machines.
Preliminary enemy losses in manpower amounted to at least 33 soldiers killed and wounded.
As reported by Ukrinform, as of 16:00 on March 6, there had been 80 combat engagements between Ukrainian defenders and Russian forces.
