War update: 112 combat clashes on frontline over past day, Pokrovsk sector hottest
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, sharing operational information as of 8:00 on Monday, March 17, according to Ukrinform.
The Russians launched one missile strike and 81 airstrikes on Ukrainian territory, using one missile and dropping 135 guided aerial bombs. Additionally, they deployed 2,534 kamikaze drones and conducted 5,794 artillery shellings on Ukrainian positions and settlements.
The invaders carried out airstrikes in the areas including Udy in Kharkiv region, Novopavlivka, Pokrovsk, Shevchenko, and Novopil in Donetsk region, Novodarivka, Huliaipole, Komyshuvakha, Slavne, and Zhovta Krucha in Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Olhivka, Tokarivka, Mykolaivka, Shliakhove, Beryslav, Zmiivka, and Chervonyi Mayak in Kherson region.
Missile forces and artillery of Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck six clusters of Russian personnel, weapons, and military equipment, as well as one enemy artillery system.
In the Kharkiv sector, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions five times near Vovchansk, Kamianka, and towards Kutkivka.
In the Kupiansk sector, 11 enemy attacks were repelled near Petropavlivka, Bohuslavka, Lozova, Zahryzove, and towards Kupiansk and Holubivka.
In the Lyman sector, the Russians conducted 10 attacks near Novoyehorivka, Zelena Dolyna, and towards Hryhorivka, Novomykhailivka, and Nove.
In the Siversk sector, there were three attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka and Ivano-Dariivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, three clashes near Chasiv Yar and towards Predtechyne occurred.
In the Toretsk sector, Russian forces attacked 14 times near Toretsk and Druzhba.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the Ukrainian defenders halted 21 enemy assault and offensive actions near Sukha Balka, Zvirove, Yelyzavetivka, Promin, Kotlyne, Novooleksandrivka, Novoserhiivka, Uspenivka, Yasenove, and Andriivka.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Russian invaders carried out 10 attacks at the Ukrainian positions near Kostiantynopil, Skudne, and towards Shevchenko.
In the Huliaipole sector, the Ukrainian defenders repelled six enemy attacks near Pryvilne, Vilne Pole, and towards Novopil.
In the Orikhiv sector, six Russian assaults were repelled near Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, and in the area of Zherebianka.
In the Prydniprovske sector, no offensive actions by Russian forces were reported.
In the Kursk sector, 14 combat clashes occurred; Russian forces conducted 11 airstrikes, dropped 18 guided aerial bombs, and carried out 289 artillery shellings including 12 from multiple rocket launcher systems.
In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of enemy offensive formations were spotted.
As reported by Ukrinform, the total combat losses of Russian forces since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, to March 17, 2025, amount to approximately 895,450 personnel, with 1,210 troops eliminated over the past day.
