Three children injured in Russian attack on Pokrovsk

A Russian attack on Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, has left three children injured, including a 12-year-old boy and his two sisters, aged 8 and 15.

The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"On March 17, 2025, at 10:30, the occupying army struck Pokrovsk. The strike hit a residential area, injuring a 12-year-old boy and his two sisters, aged 8 and 15. At the time of the shelling, they were in the yard of their home," the post said.

The children sustained blast injuries, burns, fractures, contusions, and closed head trauma. They have been provided with medical assistance.

The type of weapon used is currently being determined.

Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for war crimes. Prosecutors are taking all necessary measures to document the occupiers' brutal attack on civilians.

On March 16, Russian forces killed one resident of the Donetsk region and injured another.
