Injury toll in Kropyvnytskyi rises to 14, nearly 90 homes damaged

The number of people injured in the Russian overnight strike on Kropyvnytskyi has risen to 14, while experts continue to assess the damage to 70 private homes and 17 apartment buildings.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by representatives of the Kropyvnytskyi City Council during a briefing.

The attack left 14 people wounded including four children. Two people remain in critical condition in intensive care. All the victims have received emergency medical assistance.

According to the damage assessment results, 70 private houses and 17 apartment buildings were damaged, one household was almost completely destroyed. The buildings sustained broken windows, ripped-off doors, collapsed roofs, and damaged fences and facades.

"Both residential apartment buildings and private homes were affected, along with an educational institution, a church, and critical infrastructure facilities. The most heavily impacted areas were Novomykolaivka district (Myru and Bratislavska streets) and Balashivka district," said Oleh Koliuka, Secretary of the City Council.

In the hardest-hit neighborhoods, emergency response teams are working to eliminate the aftermath of the strikes. Specialists from the Department of Social Policy and the Citizens' Appeals Office are accepting applications for assistance from residents.

As of 15:00, 189 applications for property damage compensation had been submitted. Construction experts will now assess the damages to determine the financial aid needed. Funds for the victims will be allocated from the city's reserve budget fund.

Humanitarian organizations and volunteers are also providing aid, including NGO "April,10 ", KropHub Volunteer Center, Territory of Success, Red Cross, as well as local residents offering support.

As Ukrinform previously reported, Russian forces launched a large-scale drone strike on Kropyvnytskyi on March 20.
