166 combat clashes on frontline in past day, most in Pokrovsk sector
According to Ukrinform, this was stated on television by the spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Smiian.
“A total of 166 combat engagements were recorded over the past day,” Smiian said.
According to the spokesman, in the Kharkiv sector, the enemy tried to break through the defensive lines of our defenders nine times near the towns of Kindrashivka, Mala Shapkivka, Hlyboke and Vovchansk.
Eight attacks took place in the Kupiansk sector yesterday. Our defenders repelled the enemy's assault in the areas of Pishchane, Ivanivka, Kruhlyakivka, Zahryzove and in the direction of Petropavlivka.
The enemy attacked in the Lyman sector 22 times. They tried to break into our defense in the areas of Novyi, Novomykhailivka and near Yampolivka, Kopanky and Nadiya.
In the Siverskyi sector, the enemy made three attempts to advance in the area of Bilohorivka, as well as in the directions of Verkhnekamianske and Ivan-Daryivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupants attacked four times in the areas of Minkivka, Stupochok, and in the direction of Oleksandr-Shultyno and Predtechyno.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy made 25 attacks near Dachne, Druzhba and Toretsk.
In the Pokrovsk sector, our defenders stopped 53 aggressor's assault actions in the areas of Panteleymonivka, Oleksandropil, Zelene Pole, Tarasivka, Yelizavetivka, Novotositske, Promin, Lysivka, Pokrovsk, Zvirove, Kotlyne, Udachne, Preobrazhenka and Andriivka, as well as in the directions of Muravka and Kotlyarivka.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the enemy conducted 15 attacks in the direction of Shevchenko and in the areas of Vilnoye Pole, Kostiantynopol and Rozlyv.
In the Orikhiv sector, the occupation forces advanced four times towards the positions of our defenders in the direction of Shcherbaky and Stepove.
No combat engagements took place in the Huliaypillia and Prydniprovia sectors yesterday.
In the Volyn and Polissia sectors, no signs of enemy offensive groups were detected.
Ukrainian defense forces continue operations in the Kursk region. Yesterday, the enemy carried out 18 air strikes, dropping 27 guided aerial bombs, and fired 363 times, four of which were from multiple rocket launchers. Ukrainian defenders stopped 18 assault actions of the invaders.
Smiian added that over the past day, the aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces hit 11 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, two air defense facilities, two artillery facilities, an ammunition depot and one enemy pontoon ferry.
As Ukrinform reported, on March 20, as of 22.00, 156 combat engagements took place at the front, 51 of them in the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy lost 245 occupants.
