At Ukraine's request, Estonia will purchase EUR 100 million worth of weapons and military equipment from its domestic defense companies.

This was reported by Postimees, citing the Estonian Defense Ministry, according to Ukrinform.

According to the defense ministry, on March 21, Ukraine presented a wish list for military assistance totaling EUR 100 million, which Estonia will promptly procure from its domestic defense industry. The list includes drones, including ground-based ones, amphibious vehicles, medical equipment, and consumables.

Details regarding quantities and delivery timelines have not been disclosed for security reasons, the Estonian Defense Ministry said.

"We agreed last year that both this year and next year, we will continue to support Ukraine militarily. Today, we received feedback from Ukraine, which will allow us to deliver assistance as quickly as possible," said Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur.

It was also noted that Estonia will continue to support Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor, allocating at least 0.25% of its GDP annually. Additionally, Estonia will provide direct military material assistance, participate in the training of Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel, and, together with Luxembourg, will lead an IT coalition. The Baltic and Nordic countries also plan to equip and train a brigade of Ukraine's Defense Forces this year.

At the end of 2024, the Estonian Center for Defense Investments introduced a new measure to support Ukraine, involving the purchase of goods and services for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. A catalog provided to Ukraine in February contains nearly 500 items and services from about 100 Estonian companies.

The Estonian government has approved an increase in defense spending to at least 5% of GDP by 2026.
