Several devices for infantry weapons approved for use in AFU

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

In particular, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have approved for use a mortar stand for the Mk 19 40 mm automatic machine gun, a small infantry tripod for the Browning M2 heavy machine gun, a universal mount and a pickup truck rack, which are designed to facilitate the use of domestic and foreign small arms and grenade launchers on military equipment and stationary positions.

Thus, the mortar tripod created by Ukrainian engineers allows grenade launchers to use weapons along hinged trajectories from closed positions.

“The device has a sturdy design and running screws that ensure stability and smooth adjustment of the vertical and horizontal aiming angles. In the entire range of vertical adjustment, the horizontal adjustment plane remains in the horizontal, that is, without blocking the axis of rotation,” the defense ministry said.

Also, a small infantry tripod was approved for use, which is a domestic analog of the original tripod for a foreign-made heavy machine gun. It can be easily unfolded and installed in a stationary position, and with additional adapters can be used with a wide range of machine guns and grenade launchers.

In addition, a universal cradle mount has been approved for use, which optimizes the mounting of weapons on infantry tripods, vehicles, watercraft, armored vehicles, ground robotic systems or automated turrets.

“In the case of using the mount with a large-caliber machine gun, the design reduces the recoil when firing, which increases the accuracy of hits, and the aiming devices are subject to less mechanical and vibration impact,” the Ministry of Defense added.

The Ministry of Defense also approved a universal rack designed to equip pickup trucks with large-caliber machine guns.

“The design has an offset from the center of installation to compensate for the length of the weapon, convenient location of the gunner in the body and the ability to work with two axes of rotation. Rotating units have special bushings that do not require maintenance and lubrication. The attachment unit provides quick installation/disassembly/replacement of the weapon together with the stock,” the defense ministry said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Ministry of Defense codified and authorized the use of the domestically produced ground robotic complex “Liuty” in the Armed Forces.
