140 combat clashes on frontline in past day, nearly half in Pokrovsk sector
According to Ukrinform, this is stated in a Facebook post by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation as of 8:00 a.m. on Monday, March 24.
Yesterday, the Russians carried out 74 air strikes on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, dropping 97 guided bombs.
In addition, the enemy carried out 6,457 attacks, including 145 from multiple launch rocket systems, and used 2,350 kamikaze drones to attack.
The Russian army carried out air strikes, in particular in the areas of Petrushivka, Krasnopillia, Okip, Turia, Ugroids, Novodmitrivka and Prokhody in Sumy region; Velyka Shapkivka in Kharkiv region; Pokrovsk, Oleksandropil, Nova Poltavka, Malynivka, Novosilka, Zelene Pole, Hrodivka in Donetsk region; Novodarivka, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka in Zaporizhzhia region.
Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces hit 13 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, three UAV control points, one air defense system, three artillery systems and one other important Russian facility.
In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy tried once to break through the defensive lines towards Vovchansk.
Five Russian attacks took place in the Kupiansk sector. Ukrainian troops stopped the assault in the areas of Zahryzove, Petropavlivka and Bohuslavka.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked 11 times, trying to break into the defense near Yampolivka, in the directions of Novyi, Novomykhailivka and Zelena Dolyna.
In the Siverskyi sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces stopped five Russian army offensives near Bilohorivka, in the directions of Ivano-Daryivka and Verkhnekamianske.
In the Kramatorsk sector, two firefights were registered near Orikhovo Vasylivka and Chasiv Yar.
In the Toretsk sector, Russian troops conducted 17 attacks in the areas of Toretsk and Shcherbynivka, as well as in the direction of Diliyivka.
In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 61 assault actions of the Russian army in the direction of Panteleymonivka, Vodiane Druhe, Yelizavetivka, Lysivka, Andriivka, Kotlyne, Uspenivka, Bohdanivka and in the direction of Serhiivka.
In the Novopavlivka sector, the enemy made eight attacks in the areas of Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv, Vesele and near Skudne.
In the Huliaypole sector, the Defense Forces stopped three Russian attempts to advance near Novopole and Novosilka.
There were no combat engagements in the Orikhiv and Prydniprovskyi sectors yesterday.
No signs of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissia sectors.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces are continuing their operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. Yesterday, the enemy carried out 12 air strikes, dropping 14 guided aerial bombs, and fired 292 times, five of which were from multiple rocket launchers. Ukrainian defenders stopped 17 assault actions of the Russian invaders.
As reported by Ukrinform, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in cooperation with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Rocket Forces and artillery destroyed two Russian Ka-52 helicopters and two Mi-8s in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation.
