Drone Coalition allocates €20M for reconnaissance UAVs for Ukraine
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The delivery of the equipment is expected within three months.
“We are grateful to our partners for responding to a critical need. Prompt response and flexibility in making this decision is important, especially now that the Defense Forces need them. Thanks to them, the military can reconnoiter the area and increase the situational awareness of their units, which is important for successful combat operations,” said Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization Kateryna Chernogorenko.
As reported, in February, the Drone Coalition launched the third international tender for multi-rotor reconnaissance drones. For the second time, Ukrainian developers were able to participate. Applications for the tender are now closed, and the first stage of selection is underway.
The drone coalition was formed in February 2024 during the 19th Ramstein meeting. The idea was proposed by Latvia. Together with the UK, they coordinate the initiative.
The coalition now includes 18 countries: Latvia, the United Kingdom, Australia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Estonia, Italy, New Zealand, Canada, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Germany, Sweden, and Ukraine.
