The mandatory evacuation of families with children has been introduced in 13 more settlements in the Donetsk region.

Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, announced this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

The affected settlements include Krasnopodillia, Matiasheve, and Novohryshyne in the Kryvorizhzhia community; Bilytske, Vodiane, Chernihivka, Svitle, and Shevchenko in the Dobropillia community; Kurtivka, Kindrativka, and Osykove in the Druzhkivka community; and Novoselivka and Shandryholove in the Lyman community.

Currently, around 500 children live in these areas.

Filashkin noted that the forced evacuation of children along with their parents or legal guardians from these settlements was approved on March 27 by the regional commission on technogenic and environmental safety and emergency situations.

"Enemy shelling has intensified, and children are becoming victims. We must strengthen our efforts at all levels to protect them. The enemy continues to strike along the entire front line and even rear communities -- children are suffering and dying," Filashkin said.

He urged residents of the region to evacuate while the opportunity still exists.

The mandatory evacuation of children with families in the Donetsk region began in April 2023. According to local authorities, all children have already been evacuated from the settlements where this measure was previously enforced.
