General Staff: 116 clashes on front lines since morning, fighting raging in seven sectors
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said this in an operational update as of 16:00 on Friday, March 28, according to Ukrinform.
"Since the beginning of the day, the total number of combat engagements along the entire front line has reached 116," the statement reads.
According to the General Staff, Russian forces continued to strike settlements in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The enemy carried out artillery shelling on Oleksandrivka, Myropilske, Klynova Novoselivka, Pokrovka, Porozok, Bila Bereza, Shalyhyne, Malushyne, Petrushivka, and Novovasylivka.
Settlements including Uhroidy, Myropilske, Krasnopillia, Petrushivka, and Prokhody were targeted by Russian airstrikes.
In the Kharkiv sector, one clash was recorded near Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy launched three assaults on Ukrainian positions near Zahryzove and towards Bohuslavka, with one engagement still ongoing.
In the Lyman sector, the aggressor carried out nine attacks near Nadiia, Yampolivka, and towards Hrekivka, Nove, and Novomykhailivka. Currently, six engagements are ongoing.
In the Siversk sector, the enemy is conducting one offensive action near Ivano-Darivka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian forces repelled three attempts by the enemy to advance in the area of Chasiv Yar and towards Bila Hora.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions 17 times in the area of Toretsk, and towards Dyliivka and Shcherbynivka. Four clashes are still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy launched 50 attacks on Ukrainian positions near Panteleimonivka, Oleksandropil, Tarasivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Kotliarivka, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka, and towards Kalynove. Twelve engagements continue.
In the Novopavlivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 12 enemy attacks near Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv, and Dniproenerhiia. Four engagements are still ongoing.
In the Huliaipole sector, the enemy carried out four assault actions near Pryvilne. Airstrikes targeted Novopil.
In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian forces stopped five enemy assaults. The enemy attempted to advance towards the settlements of Shcherbaky, Mali Shcherbaky, and north of Nesterianka. Airstrikes hit Kamianske and Novoandriivka.
In the Dnipro River sector, two engagements occurred with the enemy.
In the Kursk sector, nine clashes with the enemy occurred, three of which are still ongoing. The enemy also carried out 20 airstrikes, dropped 32 glide bombs, and conducted 199 artillery strikes, including 11 from multiple launch rocket systems.
