War update: 157 clashes on frontline, 72 assaults repelled in Pokrovsk sector

On March 28, 157 clashes took place between Ukraine’s defense forces and Russian invaders, with the highest number occurring in the Pokrovsk sector, where the aggressor carried out 72 assault and offensive actions.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this operational information at 22:00 on March 28 on Facebook.

"Since the start of the day, there have been 157 combat engagements. The enemy launched one missile strike and 73 air strikes on our troops' positions and populated areas using five missiles and 133 guided aerial bombs, 1,028 kamikaze drone strikes, and over 4,500 artillery shellings," the statement said.

Four enemy assaults occurred near Vovchansk and Kam'yanka in the Kharkiv sector.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy made three attempts to push Ukrainian forces out of their positions near Zahryzove and towards Bohuslavka.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked 16 times, trying to advance near the settlements of Nadiya, Yampolivka, and towards Hrekivka, Nove, Novomykhailivka, and Zelena Dolyna. Nine clashes are ongoing.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian forces successfully repelled one attack near Ivano-Dariivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukraine’s Defense Forces stopped four enemy attempts to advance in the areas of Chasiv Yar and towards Bila Hora, Predtechyne.

The enemy attempted to breach the Ukrainian defenses 20 times in the Toretsk sector, near Toretsk and towards Dyliivka, Shcherbynivka. Two clashes are ongoing.

The enemy is intensively attacking the Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk sector. Throughout the day, the aggressor carried out 72 assault and offensive actions. The Russian invaders' activity is focused on the settlements of Panteleimonivka, Oleksandropil, Tarasivka, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Novoserhiivka, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Kotliarivka, Uspenivka, Preobrazhenka, Andriivka, and towards Kalynove. Nine clashes continue.

According to preliminary information, in this sector, Ukrainian forces neutralized 364 occupiers, 221 of them are irretrievable losses. The Ukrainian defenders also destroyed a tank, eight vehicles, seven motorcycles, two armored infantry vehicles, an electronic warfare system, a self-propelled artillery unit, a cannon, a mortar, and two enemy command posts. Additionally, two vehicles, three motorcycles, two cannons, and one tank were significantly damaged.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian defenders stopped 15 enemy attacks near Kostiantynopil, Rozlyv, and Dniproenerhiya.

In the Huliaipole sector, the enemy launched four assault actions near Pryvilne. Ukraine’s Defense Forces successfully repelled all enemy attacks. Airstrikes targeted Novopil, Novodarivka, Huliaipole, and Zaliznychne.

In the Orikhiv sector, eight clashes occurred, with the enemy trying to advance towards the settlements of Shcherbaky, Mali Shcherbaky, Mala Tokmachka, Stepove, Kamianske, and north of Nesterianka. Airstrikes hit the settlements of Kamianske and Novoandriivka.

In the Prydniprovske sector, two clashes occurred. The Russians also launched an airstrike on the Kozatske area.

Fourteen clashes took place in the Kursk sector. Throughout this day, the enemy carried out 288 artillery shellings, including 16 from multiple launch rocket systems, 22 airstrikes, and dropped 35 guided bombs.

"Today, we would like to commend the warriors of the 31st Separate Mechanized Brigade, 32nd Separate Artillery Brigade, 1st Separate Tank Siverska Brigade, 82nd Separate Airborne Assault Bukovynska Brigade, and 80th Separate Airborne Assault Halytska Brigade, who are holding back enemy attacks and inflicting significant losses on them," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine concluded.
