Russia intensifies strikes in South with gliding bombs and drones – Voloshyn

Vladyslav Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, reported this to Ukrinform.

"Compared to the previous week, the situation shows signs of escalation. Although the number of combat clashes decreased — 35 attacks were recorded — the enemy increased the use of glide bombs by 15%, employing 71 such bombs," he said.

According to Voloshyn, the enemy doubled the number of loitering munitions used — such as Lancet, Molniya, Molniya-2, and Privet-82 — to a total of around 40. There was also a 17% rise in kamikaze and FPV drone strikes, reaching 4,540 attacks overall.

In addition, the use of unguided aerial missiles grew by 8%, with Russian aircraft launching 164 such missiles.

"Last week, the enemy intensified its strikes using aircraft, FPV drones, and loitering munitions, " he concluded.

As Ukrinform reported, on October 19, there were 168 combat engagements between Ukraine's Defense Forces and Russian invaders on the front line.
