SSU, Defense Forces hit oil terminal at Novorossiysk port – source
Sources in the SSU stated this in a comment to Ukrinform.
The terminal is one of the largest oil and petroleum product transshipment complexes in southern Russia. It supplies fuel to Russian forces fighting against Ukraine.
As a result of the strike, six out of seven oil loading racks used for loading and unloading tankers were damaged. Hits were also recorded on the terminal's ground infrastructure: the nodal block of the pipeline system and the oil metering unit were struck. Large fires broke out at the impact sites.
"The SSU consistently works to reduce the enemy's military, economic, and logistical potential. Such operations will continue as long as Russia does not end its aggression against Ukraine. Each strike like this undermines the enemy's ability to finance the war and supply its troops with resources," a source in the SSU said.
As noted, the Sheskharis terminal at Novorossiysk port is one of the largest oil and petroleum product transshipment complexes in southern Russia. It provides fuel to Russian units fighting against Ukraine, emphasized the source.
It was previously reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck several important targets in Russia and temporarily occupied Crimea during the night of April 5.
