Zelensky: Russian attack on Odesa kills three, including child, and injures 18
President Volodymyr Zelensky made this statement in an evening video address, according to Ukrinform.
“Work continued in Odesa for most of the day today—following the nighttime strike by the ‘Shaheds.’ Most were shot down, but, unfortunately, not all. There were again hits on energy infrastructure and residential buildings,” he noted.
The head of state noted that 18 people were wounded and three people were killed, including a small child.
Zelensky expressed his condolences and assured everyone that all those affected had received the necessary assistance.
“We have repeatedly urged Russia to declare a ceasefire, at least for Easter—this special time of year. But for them, all times are the same; for them, nothing is sacred, and if Russia can afford a war, it can finance it—Russia will not want to move toward peace on its own. That is why it is so important not to ease the pressure on the aggressor, and everyone in the world who understands this understands how to bring peace closer,” he emphasized.
The President emphasized that Ukraine is constantly doing its part of this work, “and our far-reaching sanctions continue to work very effectively and are actually reducing Russian revenues, primarily oil revenues.”
According to him, “this is absolutely fair, and most importantly, it limits Russia’s ability to drag out this war.”
“Only significant financial losses are forcing Russia to consider an exit strategy—specifically, an exit from the war,” he added.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of April 6, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck oil loading infrastructure at the “Sheskharis” oil terminal in the Krasnodar Krai of the Russian Federation.
