Russian forces shell 43 settlements in Sumy region over past 24 hours, casualties reported

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops shelled 43 settlements in the Sumy region, killing one person and wounding eight.

This was reported on Telegram by the Sumy Regional Police, according to Ukrinform.

“One person was killed and eight were wounded as a result of enemy shelling in the Sumy region: police are documenting the consequences. Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops shelled 43 settlements in the region,” the statement said.

It is noted that a 70-year-old man was injured in the Shostka city community.

In the Konotop city community, five men were injured: aged 60, 55, 52, 57, and 48. A private house, a garage, a courthouse, a factory, a store, and cars were damaged.

The communities of Sumy, Hlukhiv, and Bilopilia, as well as the Berezivka, Svesa, Buryn, Dubovyazivka, and Novoslobidsk communities, came under enemy fire. As a result of the shelling of these communities, private homes, a store, a school, a dormitory, a driving school, a village council building, railway facilities, and hangars were damaged.

Additionally, last night in the Shostka community, a 65-year-old woman was killed and a 67-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman were injured as a result of drone strikes.

Investigators have opened criminal cases under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (War Crimes) regarding all these incidents.

As reported by Ukrinform, Russian troops attacked civilian infrastructure in the Shostka community with drones and a missile. The attack caused massive fires in a residential area, killing one person and injuring two others.
