The Ukrainian innovative drone interception system Octopus has demonstrated its effectiveness in real combat.

According to Ukrinform, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook.

The General Staff noted that the Octopus-100 interceptor UAV was developed by servicemembers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under the coordination of the Central Directorate for Innovation Activities of the AFU.

"The system was created by the military for the military and is equipped with an automatic target-tracking module with elements of artificial intelligence. The interceptor is capable of striking enemy attack UAVs of the Geran-2/3 type at any time of day thanks to day and night cameras, and it also operates effectively under electronic warfare conditions and at low altitudes," the General Staff emphasized.

The prototype has already passed codification according to NATO standards. Improvements to the software, targeting modules, and tactical and technical characteristics are ongoing.
