Russia spreading another false claim alleging new Ukrainian shelling of ZNPP

Russian propaganda is spreading another false claim alleging that Ukraine’s Defense Forces have carried out fresh attacks on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP).

According to Ukrinform, Ukraine’s Defense Forces of the South reported this on Telegram.

This time, the occupying forces accuse Ukraine’s Defense Forces of striking a transport facility at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. According to Russian claims, several buses and GAZelle vehicles were allegedly destroyed in the attack.

“We emphasize that Ukraine’s Defense Forces do not conduct strikes against nuclear energy facilities and do not create threats to nuclear safety. Ukraine, as a responsible state, strictly adheres to international humanitarian law and the principles of nuclear safety,” the Defense Forces of the South stressed.

Ukrainian military officials noted that such statements by the Russian side are part of a systematic information campaign aimed at discrediting Ukraine and shifting responsibility for the risks at the Russian-occupied ZNPP.

“Russia’s illegal occupation of the plant, its militarization, and its use as a military facility are what create a constant threat to nuclear and radiation safety throughout the region,” the Defense Forces of the South emphasized.

The Defense Forces urged the public to rely exclusively on verified sources of information and to treat reports from Russian propaganda outlets with skepticism, noting that they systematically use disinformation as a tool of warfare and to mislead the international community.
