Ukrainian forces hit five Russian cargo vessels overnight
The USF said this in a post on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
The vessels were used to support Russian military logistics and were damaged during coordinated operations.
Among the targets was a cargo ship in the area of Berdiansk in the Zaporizhzhia Region, as well as two vessels near Mariupol and two more in the area of Yalta, Donetsk region.
According to the statement, cargo vessels operating in ports under Russian occupation play a key role in supplying enemy forces. They are used to transport ammunition, military equipment, fuel, lubricants, and other materiel for Russia's invading army.
In addition, Russian occupation authorities systematically use these ports to illegally export Ukrainian grain and other resources.
Officials stressed that any vessel supporting Russian military logistics or participating in the illegal export of resources from occupied territories effectively finances the continuation of the war against Ukraine and is considered a legitimate target.
Earlier, Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces reported strikes on Russian drone crews and air defense units at Donetsk Airport.
