Hundreds of passengers have been stranded at the airport in the Russian city of Sochi due to massive flight delays caused by drone attacks on Russia's Krasnodar region.

According to Ukrinform, the Telegram channel ASTRA stated this in a post.

Passengers are currently unable to depart from the airports in Sochi and Krasnodar, with many waiting for their flights for several hours and, in some cases, for more than a day. Travelers themselves have been reporting the situation on social media.

Passengers stranded in Sochi Airport's terminals have also had to periodically leave waiting areas because of air raid alerts.

According to ASTRA contributors, even boarding an aircraft does not necessarily mean that passengers' difficulties are over.

As Ukrinform previously reported, drone attacks have severely disrupted operations at Sochi Airport, leaving thousands of passengers unable to return home since Friday.
