War update: 55 attacks on front since morning, three directions remain most active

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated this on Facebook, publishing operational information as of 16:00 on Wednesday, June 17, Ukrinform reports.

"Artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today in Sumy region, the settlements of Korenok, Sopych, Neskuchne, Rohizne, Holyshivske, Potapivka, Buniachine, Iskriskivshchyna, Malushyne and Havrylova Sloboda were hit; in Chernihiv region - Senkivka and Khrynivka," the statement said.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk directions, the invaders carried out 26 shellings since the start of the day, including three using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the Southern Slobozhanshchyna direction, the invaders tried three times to break through the defense in the area of Vovchansk and toward Pokaliane.

In the Kupiansk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped two enemy attempts to advance toward Kurylivka.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled seven attempts by the invaders to advance toward Drobysheve and Ozerne, and in the areas of the settlements of Derylove and Zarichne. Two clashes are still ongoing.

In the Sloviansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully stopped seven attempts by the invaders to advance toward the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kryva Luka, and in the area of Zakitne.

In the Kostiantynivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled nine attacks near the settlements of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Ivanopillia, Rusyn Yar, and toward Novopavlivka. Two clashes are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day the invaders have tried 11 times to push Ukrainian soldiers from their positions in the areas of the settlements of Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, and toward the settlements of Bilytske, Dorozhne, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Serhiivka and Muravka.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attacked once toward Oleksandrohrad.

In the Huliaipole direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled 12 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Dobropillia, Pryluky, Zlahoda, and toward Huliaipole and Hirske. Four clashes are still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped three enemy attempts to advance in the area of Mala Tokmachka.

In the Prydniprovske direction, the enemy carried out no offensive actions.

No significant changes in the situation are currently taking place in other directions. No enemy attempts to advance have been recorded.

As Ukrinform reported, total Russian combat losses since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, from February 24, 2022 to June 17, 2026, amount to about 1,386,680 personnel, including 1,260 in the past 24 hours.
