State Customs Service uncovers violations worth UAH 1.76B in Jan-July 2021

In January-July 2021, the State Customs Service of Ukraine uncovered and prevented more than 10,000 violations worth almost UAH 1.76 billion, Ukrinform reports, referring to the State Customs Service’s website.
“Over the first seven months of the current year, customs offices of the State Customs Service unveiled and prevented more than 10,000 customs rules’ violations worth almost UAH 1.76 billion. Compared to the same period last year, the number of detected violations rose by 22%," reads the report.
Following court proceedings, fines worth almost UAH 935 million were imposed, which is two times higher than in the same period in 2020. In particular, customs offices considered 2,032 cases of customs rules’ violations, fines worth UAH 93 million were imposed.
As reported by Ukrinform, the State Customs Service uncovered 14,000 violations worth UAH 2.6 billion in 2020.
